Twelve Years Later

It was a beautiful Fall day, much like the one 12 years ago, when the first plane crashed into  the World Trade Towers.  I ventured down to the 9/11 Memorial, eager to see the site that honors those who were lost in the terrorist attacks.

The Memorial consists of  two enormous waterfalls and reflecting pools which sit within the footprints where the Twin Towers once stood.  The names of every person who died in the 2001 and 1993 attacks are inscribed into bronze panels along the edge of the pools.
